About combine PDF

Combining is the same underlying operation as merging, and this page exists because people reach for different words for it. Where it genuinely differs is in intent: combining usually means assembling a deliberate package — a proposal from a cover letter, scope and pricing, or a submission from several separately produced sections. That framing makes page order the thing that matters most, so this tool leads with arranging the stack and offers the right-hand-page option that matters when the assembled document will be printed double-sided.

How to combine PDF

  1. 01

    Collect the sections

Add every PDF that belongs in the finished package.

  2. 02

    Arrange them

Use the arrow buttons beside each file until the list matches your intended document order.

  3. 03

    Choose printing behaviour

If the result will be printed double-sided, enable the right-hand-page option so sections start on a fresh sheet.

  4. 04

    Combine and save

Press Combine PDF and download the assembled document.

What this tool does

  • Purpose-built for assembling multi-section documents
  • Blank-page padding for double-sided printing
  • Optional file-level bookmarks for navigation; existing source outlines are not retained
  • Lossless: no re-compression of any page

Limitations worth knowing

Every PDF tool has constraints. Stating them plainly is more useful than discovering them halfway through your work.

  • Page size is not normalised — mixed A4 and Letter sections stay mixed. Use PDF Page Size Changer first if you need one uniform size.
  • Encrypted files are rejected. Prepare an unencrypted copy in an authorized decryption-capable application first; this page cannot decrypt files.
  • Existing digital signatures do not survive combination.

How your file is handled

This tool runs entirely inside this browser tab. When you choose a file, your browser reads it from your own disk and hands the bytes to JavaScript running on this page — no network request carries your document anywhere. You can confirm that yourself: open your browser’s developer tools, switch to the Network panel, and run the tool. You will see no upload.

Nothing is stored after the fact. Closing or reloading this tab discards the file, the result and everything derived from them, because none of it ever left your machine. Read how local processing works.

Questions about combine PDF

What is the difference between combining and merging PDFs?

Mechanically nothing — both concatenate documents. This page is oriented toward assembling a deliberate package, so it emphasises section order and double-sided printing.

Can I combine PDFs of different page sizes?

Yes. Each page keeps its own dimensions, so the result can contain both A4 and Letter pages. Run PDF Page Size Changer first if you need consistency.

Will the bookmarks from each section be kept?

No. The bookmark option creates a flat list with one new entry named after each source file, pointing to its first page. Existing outlines inside those files are not copied or nested.
