About JPEG to PDF
.jpg and .jpeg are the same format with two spellings, a leftover from the era of three-letter filename limits. Nothing inside the file differs, and this tool treats them identically: the JPEG stream is lifted out and embedded in the PDF without a decode-and-re-encode cycle. What does differ is where .jpeg files tend to come from. Scanner utilities, phone-to-desktop transfers, medical and laboratory software and some export pipelines emit the long extension, and they usually emit numbered sequences — page_001.jpeg through page_048.jpeg. Sequences are where conversions go wrong, because a plain alphabetical sort puts image_10 before image_2. This page therefore sorts a dropped batch naturally, reading digit runs as numbers rather than as characters, so a numbered set lands in the PDF in the order a human would expect. You can still drag any card to override it before converting.
How to JPEG to PDF
- 01
Drop the .jpeg files
Add a whole numbered sequence at once. They are sorted so page_2 comes before page_10, not after it.
- 02
Check the order
Scan the thumbnails top to bottom and drag any card that belongs elsewhere.
- 03
Convert and save
Press Convert to PDF and download the result. The JPEG data is copied, not re-encoded.
What this tool does
- Treats .jpeg and .jpg as the single format they are
- Natural numeric ordering, so page_2 sorts before page_10
- JPEG stream embedded without re-compression
- Optional fixed page size and margin for print-bound output
Limitations worth knowing
Every PDF tool has constraints. Stating them plainly is more useful than discovering them halfway through your work.
- Filenames without numbers fall back to plain alphabetical order; check the list before converting.
- CMYK and progressive JPEGs are re-encoded, since PDF cannot carry those variants natively.
- No image editing: cropping, straightening and colour correction must happen before conversion.
How your file is handled
This tool runs entirely inside this browser tab. When you choose a file, your browser reads it from your own disk and hands the bytes to JavaScript running on this page — no network request carries your document anywhere. You can confirm that yourself: open your browser’s developer tools, switch to the Network panel, and run the tool. You will see no upload.
Nothing is stored after the fact. Closing or reloading this tab discards the file, the result and everything derived from them, because none of it ever left your machine. Read how local processing works.
Questions about JPEG to PDF
Is there any difference between JPG to PDF and JPEG to PDF?
None in the file format or the conversion — the two extensions describe the same thing. This page simply leans into the numbered-sequence case, where correct ordering matters most.
How are my files ordered in the PDF?
By natural sort: digit runs in the filename are compared as numbers, so scan_9.jpeg precedes scan_10.jpeg. Drag any card to override the automatic order.
Will the conversion re-compress my images?
No. Baseline JPEG data is embedded in the PDF unchanged, so the pages contain exactly the pixels your files already held.
Can I mix .jpeg and .png files in one conversion?
Yes, and Images to PDF is built for exactly that — it explains how each format is handled in a mixed batch.
