About remove PDF pages
This page shares its engine with Delete PDF Pages and removes the specified pages from the document's page list. It builds a new PDF from the pages you keep, but it does not guarantee that every object or resource associated with a removed page is absent from the output. Kept pages can retain references to that material, so this is not a secure redaction or sanitization tool. Content on kept pages, such as an internal project name in a header, is not cleaned. Original author and title properties are not copied into the new document's metadata, while new producer, creator and date metadata is generated. Review the result and use a dedicated redaction and sanitization workflow before sharing sensitive material.
How to remove PDF pages
- 01
Open the document you are about to send
Review the PDF in a viewer before selecting it here. This tool is not a secure redaction workflow.
- 02
Enter the pages to strip
List the unwanted page positions, for example 2, 14-16.
- 03
Rebuild the document
Press the action button; a new PDF is assembled locally from the pages you kept.
- 04
Verify before sending
Open the download to check its visible pages. For sensitive material, use dedicated redaction and sanitization instead of relying on this visual check.
What this tool does
- Named pages are omitted from the output page list; this is not a guarantee of secure content removal
- Kept pages bring along their referenced resources, which can include material from removed pages
- Original file stays on your disk untouched, so you keep the complete version
- Runs locally, which matters most precisely when the pages are confidential
Limitations worth knowing
Every PDF tool has constraints. Stating them plainly is more useful than discovering them halfway through your work.
- Text on the pages you keep is unaffected — this is page removal, not redaction of page content.
- Original author and title properties are not copied into the new document's metadata. New producer, creator and date metadata is generated; this is not a metadata-sanitization tool.
- Document-level bookmarks are not transferred, including bookmarks to kept pages. Internal links are not retargeted or validated and may not work.
- Page numbers printed in the original content will now skip, since the visible numbering was drawn into the pages.
How your file is handled
This tool runs entirely inside this browser tab. When you choose a file, your browser reads it from your own disk and hands the bytes to JavaScript running on this page — no network request carries your document anywhere. You can confirm that yourself: open your browser’s developer tools, switch to the Network panel, and run the tool. You will see no upload.
Nothing is stored after the fact. Closing or reloading this tab discards the file, the result and everything derived from them, because none of it ever left your machine. Read how local processing works.
Questions about remove PDF pages
Is the removed content truly gone from the downloaded file?
Not necessarily. The named pages are omitted from the output page list, but objects or resources still referenced by kept pages can carry removed content into the new file. Do not rely on this tool for secure redaction or sanitization of confidential material.
Will the recipient be able to tell pages were removed?
Possibly. Printed page numbers remain unchanged, so removing pages can leave visible gaps. Add Page Numbers can add a new continuous sequence, but it does not remove or replace the original printed numbers.
Does this remove sensitive text from a page I am keeping?
No. Removal works at page granularity. Confidential text inside a page you keep stays there, and hiding it behind a shape would still leave it extractable.
Is the file uploaded anywhere while I do this?
No. The document is parsed and rebuilt by code running in this tab, which is the reason the tool is usable for material you are not allowed to send to a third-party server.
