About reorder PDF pages
Page order in a PDF is defined by its page tree, whose /Kids arrays hold ordered references to pages or branches. This tool creates a new PDF and copies pages into it in the requested sequence, together with their content streams, fonts and images. It does not rasterise pages or re-compress images, so repeating the operation does not cause cumulative page-content quality loss. The result is a rebuilt document rather than a byte-identical copy, and document-level bookmarks are not transferred. This matters for the common causes of a wrong order: a scanner that fed the stack in reverse, a merge done in the wrong sequence, or an appendix that ended up ahead of the body. Changing the sequence this way preserves selectable text and image quality without rendering pages into pictures. The one thing it cannot fix is numbering already drawn onto the pages, which stays with the page it was printed on.
How to reorder PDF pages

Add the PDF

- 04
Save
Press the action button and download the reordered document.
What this tool does
- Purely structural change — page content is never re-encoded
- Explicit sequence entry, with omitted pages appended in their original order
- Repeatable without any cumulative quality loss
- Document-level bookmarks are not copied into the output, because it is a new document built from copied pages.
Limitations worth knowing
Every PDF tool has constraints. Stating them plainly is more useful than discovering them halfway through your work.
- Page numbers printed into the page content do not renumber; they travel with their page.
- Cross-references in the text such as “see page 12” are static content and become inaccurate.
- Signed documents lose their signature validity once page order changes.
How your file is handled
This tool runs entirely inside this browser tab. When you choose a file, your browser reads it from your own disk and hands the bytes to JavaScript running on this page — no network request carries your document anywhere. You can confirm that yourself: open your browser’s developer tools, switch to the Network panel, and run the tool. You will see no upload.
Nothing is stored after the fact. Closing or reloading this tab discards the file, the result and everything derived from them, because none of it ever left your machine. Read how local processing works.
Questions about reorder PDF pages
Does reordering pages reduce quality?
No. Pages and their referenced resources are copied into a new PDF in the requested order, without rasterising pages or re-compressing images. You can reorder repeatedly without cumulative page-content quality loss, but document-level bookmarks are not copied.
Will the printed page numbers update?
No. Those numbers are drawn into each page's content stream, so a page labelled 12 stays labelled 12 wherever it moves. Add Page Numbers can stamp a fresh sequence over the result.
How do I fix a document scanned back to front?
Reverse PDF Pages does that in one step, with no sequence to type. Use this tool when the corrections are irregular rather than a straight reversal.
