About rotate PDF pages

Because /Rotate is stored on each page object rather than on the document, a PDF can legitimately hold a different orientation for every page — and mixed documents are the norm rather than the exception. A report with portrait text and landscape charts, or a scanned batch where a few sheets went through sideways, needs selective correction, and rotating everything would break the pages that were already right. This tool applies an angle only to the pages you name and copies the rest with their existing /Rotate untouched, so a document can end up with pages at 0, 90 and 270 simultaneously. Rotations compose rather than replace: applying 90 to a page already set to 180 results in 270, with the value normalised into the legal range. Nothing is re-rendered, but the whole file is loaded and saved even when only three pages of a 500-page scan are selected, so time and memory use still depend on the document and device.

How to rotate PDF pages

  1. 01

    Open the document

Drop in the PDF and identify which page numbers are misoriented.

  2. 02

    List those pages

Enter just the wrong ones, such as 3, 7, 11-14. Everything else is left alone.

  3. 03

    Choose their angle

Pick the rotation those pages need. Run the tool again if different pages need different angles.

  4. 04

    Save the mixed-orientation PDF

Download the result; each page keeps the orientation it should have.

What this tool does

  • Per-page rotation, so correct pages stay correct
  • Existing rotations are composed rather than overwritten
  • Mixed portrait and landscape documents are fully supported
  • No page-content re-encoding; loading and saving still depend on document size and available memory

Limitations worth knowing

Every PDF tool has constraints. Stating them plainly is more useful than discovering them halfway through your work.

  • One angle per run. Pages needing different angles require a second pass on the downloaded file.
  • Right angles only; skewed scans cannot be corrected this way.
  • The page media box is unchanged, so a rotated portrait page still reports portrait dimensions to some tools.

How your file is handled

This tool runs entirely inside this browser tab. When you choose a file, your browser reads it from your own disk and hands the bytes to JavaScript running on this page — no network request carries your document anywhere. You can confirm that yourself: open your browser’s developer tools, switch to the Network panel, and run the tool. You will see no upload.

Nothing is stored after the fact. Closing or reloading this tab discards the file, the result and everything derived from them, because none of it ever left your machine. Read how local processing works.

Questions about rotate PDF pages

Can different pages have different rotations in one file?

Yes — rotation is a per-page property, so a document can mix 0, 90, 180 and 270. That is exactly how reports with landscape charts among portrait text are built.

What if some pages need 90 degrees and others 180?

Run the tool twice. Rotate the first set, download, then feed that file back in and rotate the second set. Because rotation is lossless, the second pass costs nothing in quality.

What happens if I rotate a page that already has a rotation?

The angles add and the result is normalised into 0, 90, 180 or 270. A page at 270 rotated by 90 becomes 0 rather than an invalid 360.
